Mum gave me a wee pile of my daily quota of diet biscuits. Like all lazy dogs I was lying there licking them up with my tongue and not moving, then that blasted cat got very close and was watching me. I am *sure* she was thinking of stealing my food. Bad kitty!

Cats 'n stuff

I had a great Christmas - Mum let me eat have roast chicken for dinner, and I got some new toys to drive Dad mad with play with. Today I have been relaxing on Grandma's knee, on the mohair rug in 26 degree heat, cos Grandma's been sick. Mum went to the hospital with her the other night and waited 4 hours - she was a bit cross when she got home. But not very cross, cos she says sometimes it has been Grandma that makes the doctors and nurses run late, so fair's fair.
Grandma has a chest infection, but the staff kept asking about the big bruise on her arm - and Grandma couldn't remember how it happened. When we got home Mum and Grandma were laughing, saying that a this rate the Police will be round any day to accuse Mum of beating up Grandma.
Anyway...as I was saying, I was on Grandma's knee and my friend Goldie turned up. It had been raining and she was very wet so that her fur was all spiky. Mum took a photo of her while she was having some biscuits, and one of me looking very interested in the food. I always knew cats were too dumb to get out of the rain!

Goal weight
Well folks, I did it! I'm back to my Feb '09 starting weight of 3.8kg. It's been surprisingly quick really. And boy oh boy have I got energy. Mum says I am such a good girl. And my eyes are fine too, thanks to my meds. So life's pretty cool at the moment. Now all we have to do is maintain this weight. From yesterday we starting adding a *little* bit more food on my plate - just enough that I don't get any skinnier.

Bright eyed
The change to my medication has worked well. I am all bright eyed and happy again. My Mum is very pleased with me. I even got a tiny bit of roast chicken with my diet dinner last night, as a celebration. And to top it off, I have lost another 200gms this week. I am *such* a good girl ;-)

Oh no! Sore eyes again - again...
On Saturday when I woke up my eyes were a bit yucky. Mum was worried but decided not to panic. Saturday night at tea time she was grooming me and realised my eyes were a bit wet and pink. So she rang the vet and got some antibiotics for me straight away. She has emailed the special eye surgeon man, Craig, and he has confirmed what Mum had decided to do - increase my special expensive pills back to twice a week instead of every five days. It looks like twice weekly will be my permanent dose. Obviously every 5 days is not quite enough. I'll be back on the antibiotic for a bit, then we'll be back to just the Atopica. Poor Mum, I do worry her...

Going down
Mum and Dad let me have my normal night time meal for a few nights, cos I had lost so much weight so quickly. But they kept the cat food out of harm's way and still only gave me those stupid diet biscuits. Gack! But I have lost another .2kg so am doing really well. And boy oh boy do I have a spring in my step. Watch out world - there's toys flying in all directions...
Not sure if you have seen this photo before - it's one Mum really likes. She caught Goldie and I as we were taking a 2 second breather before launching back into bad games round Grandma's chair.
